Another rain-free day so we tackled the area in front of the house. Firstly it was raked and cleared of stones (well we tried to remove them but quite a few small ones will have slipped through), and then we had to level it. Cue a nice, simple method that resulted in much hilarity - and a certain amount of intrigue from the cows, who came to watch!
Next we collected the grass cores from the golf club - the product of hollow coring, which usually goes to waste - and laid it on top of the soil. The cores have a mixture of grass, soil and sand in them, so hopefully they will bed in during the winter before we seed in spring.

416Are you planning on getting a 'green'at the front? Using the golf course waste sounds like a nifty idea!The hard work wil pay off in the end. Amazing how much bigger it looks now and will look fab in the future. I'm in Sunny Cyprus as I type this! Took a last minute deal to Northern Cyprus, been snorkeling today, far from the windy, wet weather you may be having :-) How come I am the only one bothered to comment on your blog? You are doing a brill job and glad you started it again. In years to come you will look back on this with fond memories as you push your zimmer frames around!
